Dear Rezaian Family,
We are so thankful to have had the opportunity to get to know Walker. He and Everett had so much in common and played well together. I was really looking forward to them continuing their friendship. I love the idea of growing up with a playmate the same age just across the street. Walker was excited to show us his pool and hottub. He had a real exuberance about him but at the same time, he was so well mannered and sweet. We truly feel the loss of such a wonderful little boy and our thoughts are with you all. Please feel free to send Paxton over whenever you need to. Our kids would love his company.
In addition, when I worked as a psychological counselor at CPMC in the city, I did a fair amount of bereavement work with people who were coping with a variety of different types of losses. Some very traumatic, some the result of a long term illness, etc...The main thing I think it's important for you to know is that there are very valuable support sources out there. It can be very comforting knowing that despite the amount of pain and anguish you are undoubtedly experiencing, having a safe and reliable place to go on a weekly basis where you can just be sad and let it all hang out is useful. My clients always told me that they couldn't believe how much they benefited from just being listened to and having their intense and overwhelming feelings normalized on a regular basis. So please just know that it's a valuable resource that is available usually in conjunction with a hospice center.
Again, from our family to your family, we cannot imagine what you must be going through. But please know we are here for you right across the street and we are so very sorry for your loss.
